The winners of the Corporate Call have been announced.

On Thursday, March 30th, 2023, during the well-attended Health Tech Hub Styria – Pitch & Partner 2023 event with around 180 attendees, the Innovation Awards were given to Vertify and Ambicura.

The international research center “Virtual Vehicle” had called for pitches on the topic of capturing and using health-related data on vehicle occupants. The winning team of the MedTech startup Vertify has developed a software that uses AI and eye-tracking via the mobile phone camera to obtain health-related insights based on the smallest pupil movements and to detect, for example, the cause of dizziness. This is an exciting development that will now be checked for its applicability within a vehicle. Other finalists were Smart Skin, a project group from TU Graz, currently developing “artificial skin” that responds to moisture, pressure, and temperature changes. The second finalist, Solgenium, can process data from various sources with its Source platform SOHLARIS and evaluate them with an AI for various health-related questions.

The Smart Ageing association, supported by the Geriatric Health Centers Graz, deliberately broadened its call to search for the most innovative solution in Active & Assisted Living in Europe. The winning start-up, Ambicura, has developed an extremely easy-to-use, cube-shaped device that provides simple access to digital applications. Seniors no longer have to struggle with smartphones, iPads, or computers, updates, accounts, passwords, and operating systems, but can simply access, for example, the Zoom call with their grandchildren, their favorite program on Ö1, or a digital photo album.

Finalist Buildtelligent focuses on digital solutions to support caregivers: sensors measure vital signs and movement data, which are then sent to a central system that informs the caregivers. The Hel-Wacht Holding GmbH, the second finalist, offers a comprehensive security system for one’s own four walls with MyStella: a base station and accessories such as a smartwatch form a communication channel to the appropriate emergency centers.
